Blizzard is the up and coming ski brand.  Now owned by Nordica, and built in one of the newest factories in the world, Blizzard is ready to become a major player.  The IQon series was brand new for 06-07, and is unchanged for 07-08 except for cosmetics.  The IQon 7400 was the top model in this group (which includes a wider IQon 7900 for &acut; 08) and a fabulous all mountain ski for any skier looking for a quick turning, shorter length ski.  Very stable and holds its edge well, even on hard snow.  Check out these features:

• IQ Sandwich construction - Full wood core with IQ rails molded into the composite top sheet.  Carbon layers on top of the wood core resist compressing as the ski flexes, creating powerful rebound from turn to turn.  The carbon inserts also increase the skis resistance to twisting forces for outstanding edge hold on hard snow.
• Top of the line, sintered graphite base – A ski can only glide as fast as the base will let it go.  This base is super durable, fast gliding, and holds wax incredibly well.  No compromise here. 
• 74 mm waist with a very tight sidecut.  14 METER RADIUS in a 174.  This baby turns so tight, it can actually turn a full circle if you hold it on edge long enough.  Super fun on groomers, but a great occasional off piste ski as well.  it especially skis very well in cruddy, cut up and bumpy snow.  Very few skis on the market combine this width with a sidecut this deep.
• Super light and lively - very springy from turn to turn.  One of the easist turning skis money can buy.

• Exclusive Blizzard Skeleton construction – This is one of the lightest binding systems on the market at just under 2 lbs.
• Backward Release Control  – The toe of the binding allows the boot to release in any direction throughout a 180 degree arc.  The result is excellent protection from twisting falls, even in a backward direction.
• Tension Load Pincer toe piece - Four stainless inserts inside the dual pincer design allow a very tight connection at the toe.  The boot is able to transmit steering forces very guickly to the ski.
• Gliding AFD - The sliding anti friction device under the boot toe moves with the boot as the binding absorbs shock or releases.  Increased friction between boot and binding caused by wear or dirt is reduced, resulting in a more consistent release when needed.

• DIN range is 4 to 12 - which will fit virtually any adult skier.  Very lightweight, but super durable.  The IQ system can be adjusted to fit any adult ski boot sole
