Tecnica Diablo Magnesium 07-08 model. The Tecnica Diablo models are amoug the hottest skiing, best fitting boots on the market. Tecnica blows us away with how much they have improved their fit recently. These boots envelope the foot with a liner that is incredibly comfortable, and fits most feet right out of the box. Tecnica has always been known as the top skiing boot, and the Magnesium is a perfect example of that. The heel height in the Diablo series boots is lower, and the shaft is angled forward just a bit more than other boots on the market. This puts you in the perfect position on your skis to absorb terrain underfoot, and elimates the need to be constantly hammering the front of the boot. The flex is very smooth, and the boot is very powerful without being demanding.
The Magnesium is the all around, advanced to expert boot in the Diablo group, and is just slightly softer in flex than the Magma. It also has a liner that is a bit cushier than the Magma. It has tons of features, and performance built in. Check out these features of the Magnesium;
- UltraFit3 Liner - Tecnica's best compromise between performance and comfort. This liner molds itself to your foot as you wear the boot, but can be heat molded as well. Breaks in to fit, but doesn't break down and get sloppy. Tecnica has recently redesigned all of their liners, making these, by far, the best fitting Tecnicas ever.
- Conformable insole - almost all ski boot come with a junky insole under the foot. If you use a custom insole, it will go in this liner perfectly. But many skiers don &acut; t go to that extra expense. Tecnica includes a very nice and supportive Conformable Insole you would normally find at about $45.00 off the rack in a ski shop.
- AVS with Grip Sole - Anti Vibration material is built into the bottom of the boot to provide maximum shock absorbtion and at the same time improves traction as you walk around the slippery parking lot, or hike to that pow stash.
- Rapid Access easy entry - The front of the upper cuff opens on a hinge, making this an incredibly easy boot to get into. Also, the instep buckle catch hinges up as the foot slides in, and can pivot to whatever angle is necessary for perfect closure over your foot.
- Twin support upper shell design - Extended upper flaps warp around the shaft of the leg, increasing the ability of the boot to transmit energy from side to side.
- 3 Density Technology - Multiple plastics are co molded together to make the boot stiff in all the right places for maximum power transfer, and soft in all the right places for ease of entry and comfort.
- Adjustable flex - a simple two postion flex lock at the back of the upper shell allows the boot to be personalized to the flex that works best for you. This is the second stiffest model in the Diablo series with a flex index of 100 (compared to 115 for the Magma and 80 for the Flame).
- Diablo Magnesium Buckles - Large, easy to operate buckles are micro adjustable to allow the perfect tension for the perfect fit
- Removable Rear Spoiler - By making the spoiler at the back of the leg removable, this boot can fit very large calf sizes. An additional spoiler is included to make the boot fit smaller diameter legs very well also, and the spoiler can be adjusted up or down to fit your leg.
- Dual Pivot cuff alignment - Allows the upper cuff of the boot to be aligned so that your feet are flat on the snow, but goes even further. The direction of flex can be changed as well, setting the boot up to move to the inside when flexed forward, making the turn almost automatic.
- Lycra Lined upper shaft - The foot glides right in thanks to this lycra slide panel
